The legal ceremony is conducted by a Judge in Spanish, with a translation in English. The paperwork must be presented at our civil courthouse at least two days prior to the wedding. If you choose to have your wedding at Hilton Los Cabos you can relax as your personalized wedding coordinator will guide you through the paperwork and turn materials in at the civil court house.

The following documents are required:

  • Birth Certificate (Copy)
  • Prenuptial Medical Certificate by local health department and the lab (you will get a blood test here)
  • Copy of your passport or ID
  • Copy of Legal entry to Mexico (Tourist Card––you get it when you enter in the country.)
  • Copy of your witnesses ID or Passport (If you choose an intimate wedding of just the two of you then we can provide you with witnesses for the ceremony.)
  • Marriage application

The judge will perform the ceremony at the hotel and will give you a copy of the marriage certificate. You register this marriage certificate when you return to the states to validate the wedding.

If you have been married before, you must present your certificate of divorce to the judge.

The great advantage of Los Cabos is that we have the beautiful mix of desert and ocean. Because this is a desert, we have about five inches of rain a year, which means this will not be your main concern and you can concentrate on your guest list, cake and more.

Weather is very predictable in Cabo. For this reason we will know at least one day in advance of the possibility of rain during your wedding day. If weather becomes a concern, we will discuss your options and then together make a decision.
