What You’ll See

Plan a visit to our Los Cabos resort between the end of December and the end of March – the best time to see these majestic mammals in action. Humpback whales migrate about 6,000 miles from the cold currents of the Bering Sea in Alaska to our temperate waters off the Baja Peninsula.

Mothers and their calves grow and learn survival skills here before their long trek home.Watch these gentle giants rising to the surface; Look for flukes––spouting water – or whales leaping out of the water, which is called breaching. If you’d like to take a closer look, book one of the many excursions that operate from Magdalena Bay, the nearest calving area to Los Cabos.
